Dancer Jargon?

Hi there, I'm back.

So, during Elayn's class tonight, the topic of Second Life dancer jargon came up.
Jargon (n) the technical terminology or characteristic idiom of a special activity or group
The first term that came up was "Ball Warmer." I believe that refers to someone who just puts on a costume and rides a mover as a dancer, doing nothing else.

What are some other terms that we use in dance?

Put them in the comments.

  1. what a great topic!

mover/pad - an object the dancer sits on during the dance to stay in position and often be moved by the choreographer. Spot on movers, SZI pads, pose balls, DPC pads - all are often referred to as movers or pads interchangeably. Example: "you are on mover number 2" means sit on the movement system prim labeled number 2.

  2. Fit...as in your costume for the performance.

  3. I"m trying to remember some of the funnier ones from class R. Ball rider, mover warmer, riders, didn't someone mention 'robot'??? hehehehe it was a lively conversation.
