Sarabande Theater

Sarabande Theater presents a long-awaited revival of The New Moon in the Old Moon's Arms, an evocative ballet set to the music of Michael Kamen.

The work contemplates the fate of the Anasazi people, who disappeared from the American Southwest around 1300 A.D. No one really knows why their civilization collapsed, but by all accounts they were a vital people with a sophisticated culture.

Perhaps the most intriguing and recognizable legacy of the Anasazi is the trickster god Kokopelli, whose image appears everywhere today in the Southwest, and whose presence is prominently featured in New Moon.

"Many members of the Sarabande Cast regard New Moon as one of the most treasured and meaningful pieces in our repertoire, and we hope you will share our fond sentiments for it." --Jory Lochlann, Sarabande Cast
