December Showcase Sign Ups Open!

 

New Showcase show for Dance Queens is December 19th at 2pm SLT. This show will be Holiday/Winter themed. So that means either an holiday (Christmas, Kwanza, Hannukah etc.) or a winter set. Please understand this theme before signing up, ask if there are questions. 

 

We will accept 12 sign ups, if you do not have a troupe to represent you can dance for Dance Queens.

Please know that with a limit, we encourage you to sign up ASAP, if you are committed to being there, real life emergencies aside. Rehearsal is usually the week before with 2 times to accommodate different time zones.

Please pick up a performer card in the Dance Queens info center and submit to Web Sass as soon as possible to hold your place as these shows fill up very fast.

LA COQUETTE’S HALLOWEEN SHOW IS A SPOOKY SECRET!

We could tell you, but then we’d have to kill you.

And we’d rather you live because this Halloween La Coquette Cabaret has the experience of a (SL) lifetime for our most valued patrons! A Halloween show like no other, we promise!

With loads of special effects, incredible choreography from the fabulous dancing witches of La Coquette parish and evocative sets that will combine for a mesmerizing, horrific immersive  burlesque experience that will be both spooky and special!

If you want to be there you’ll have to join one of our booking groups to get in front of the queue. Because we can only accommodate a limited amount of martyrs per show!

          

You will need to  join the group of the show you wish to attend... And you MUST remain in the group until show day as its your show day ticket for a seat on the eerie La Coquette hearse!

Dance Queens is proud to present our Multi-troupe Showcase Performance which includes 8 troupes and 10 choreographers from all over the grid. This show has a variety of skill level, creativity and talent. Every act is brand new and not seen before. Join us for this variety show to be entertained.

Elysium Cabaret - Welcome To The Weekend!

If it’s Friday, it’s Elysium Cabaret! Fancy some imagination in a fun social setting? In The Empire Room at Copperhead Road, every Friday at 6pm SLT, the dynamic performers of Elysium Cabaret take the stage to bring you a solid hour of entertainment!

Theatre 6 is located on the oxygeno2 region in Second Life.  :oxygen: is a destination sim created by my partner, Justice Vought, and I where we have several event venues and weekly music events and now bi-monthly burlesque shows in the new Theatre 6.  This months show is a variety show with 6 acts.

This is our Halloween show which is in conjunction with Death Row Designs.  It's a theme show with 10 acts and DRD staff guest starring with us!  This is going to be a fun show, don't miss it!  But, if you do, we'll be doing an encore on October 31 at 5pm at DRD's Halloween Party.

I can’t believe it!!  Maybe you can’t either!  But the Spirit Light Dance Company (SLDC) is now ten years old!  In another few years, it can qualify for a driver’s license!  What were you doing ten years ago in SL (OK, you don’t have to fess up)?  

In honor of its tenth anniversary, SLDC will present a dance retrospective—a greatest hits event, if you will—from selected shows over the years.  The performances will be on October 4, 11, and 18.  Expect to be regaled by dances from classical ballet, Spanish tempos, modern explorations, jazz rhythms, contemporary beats, country music, and of course, everybody’s favorite, Bollywood!!  

Why is SLDC still around?  It’s because of a decade of constant study and innovation by SLDC members on how best to unlock the secrets of blending next-generation technology with classic choreography.  Where in the physical world can we so effortlessly perform a dance ensemble in thin air without resorting to imagination (or lots of cables)?  Where can dancers swim with the fishes . . . and breathe with the fishes?  Where can gravity-defying and breathtakingly colorful sets be erected with the click of a switch?   Over the last decade, SLDC has invited us to be guests on voyages through lands in which only the imagination roams.  

Why is SLDC still around?  It’s because of the people!  Innovation doesn’t happen without innovators.  Vision doesn’t appear without visionaries.  And building doesn’t get done without builders.  But of primary importance, SLDC is a community—even a family of sorts—in which all members are encouraged to participate and to share in each other’s gifts.  Their artistry is spawned from a collection of individual efforts.  

And then there is Caryl, the founder and current Director of SLDC.  Her real-life choreographic experience, her creativity, her energy, and her relentless pursuit of artistic perfection have produced the spark that has kept the company moving.  She is already planning (probably in her usual meticulous detail) the next ten years.  

So please come and join us for this special event!  Bring your tapping toes, your sense of wonderment, and for many of you, your memories of what has been at SLDC, and your anticipation of what lies ahead.  Remember, at Rockcliffe University auditorium, 12:00 noon SLT, on October 4, 11, and 18.

Amazon Dancers - Earth Wind and Fire Show

Hello everyone Good evening!

It is with great pleasure that we present the show Earth, Wind & Fire with Amazon Dancers!

This show is in tribute of Earth, Wind & Fire, a renowned band from the United States was founded by Maurice White, who created Kalimba (African musical instrument), the group's trademark until today

The group was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, was included in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, included in the Hollywood RockWalk and Maurice and Philip in the vocalists' Hall of Fame.

Throughout his career, Earth, Wind & Fire sold more than 80 million records, won 40 Music American Awards, 7 Grammys, in addition to 22 nominations for the same award

The show lasts about 60min in 5 acts.
