Whether it is the Fourth of July, Canada Day, Bastille Day . . . or any other day of celebration, The Spirit Light Dance Company (SLDC) offers you an occasion to revel in the carefree days of summer (or overcome the blues of winter for our southern hemisphere friends). Join us for a tribute to the season of barbeque, beaches, and lazy days...
On Sunday July 9 and 16 at 12 Noon SLT,
at the "Theater of Light" at Rockcliffe University.
It’s unbelievable how many ways the choreographers and dancers of the SLDC found to say "Screw This!" to shocking news casts, medical reports, International & local politics, fake news and general upheaval all over the world. They pulled out a Bucket list full of meaningful scenes to make you feel good. Dance numbers with titles like: “Elements,” “Here to Love,” “Hoo Doo,” “Gummy Bears,” “Oil Paintings,” “Warriors,” “She Dances,” “Desert Rain,” “Paris,” “Unstoppable,” “Million Voices,” and “Head Held High.” In addition, our golden-voiced announcer/narrator, Mikey, will present an original inspirational message.
SLDC is a Second-Life dance company that brings together the artistic potential of virtual-world technology and the full range of choreographic styles. The result often leaves audience members with an irrepressible desire to tap their feet . . . and even get up and dance. All dances are performed live in real time by the performers. The SLDC is a company comprised solely of volunteers, including the choreographers, the set designers, the back-office personnel and, of course, the dancers.
Come spend some relaxing time with us on Sunday, July 9, and again on Sunday, July 16, at the Theater of Light. Performance time is 12:00 noon, but seating is limited and fills fast. Come early to get a seat and to start tapping your toes!
