Opera do Malandro is a brazilian theater play from 1978 written by Chico Buarque.
It is inspired by „The Beggars Opera“, written by John Gay in 1728, and
The The Threepenny Opera, written by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill in 1928.
The story takes place in the neighborhood of Lapa, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the 1940s.
The show lasts 80 minutes divided into 7 acts
