SLDC Country Jamboree

SLDC Spirit Light Dance Company
Oct 21th 12 noon slt

A benefit show for Rockcliffe University
Spirit Light Dance Company Presents  -- "Country Jamboree"

Yippee ki yay!  Buckaroos, put on your dancing best, find your sweethearts, and come to the Spirit Light Dance Company's Country Jamboree.  Ladies, dust off your boots, grab your favorite cow puncher and get ready for the two-step.

It's a special dance celebration of everything that can happen in a barn or corral, including a cowboy's homage to a sexy tractor and dancing chickens.  Yes, fluttering, flashing, frenetic dancing chickens!  A chicken in every pot becomes a rooster on pot, as they cluck their way into the hearts of audience members between numbers.

And the performance presents the most memorable moments of the cowboy/cowgirl traditions, from the testosterone-charged dance of the Magnificent Seven to the mournful complaints of You're No Good.  Red Neck Women have their say, along with all of the Dolly wannabes of the world.  The program begins with Copland's Hoedown and ends with a rousing line dance, with plenty to shake the dust off of your boots in between.

Caryl Meredith, the Artistic Director of the Spirit Light Dance Company, provides the creative inspiration behind the performance.  She is ably assisted by the choreographic artistry of Keko Heckroth, Charm March, Kele Monday, Wyvern Blazewood, Hanna Mixemup, Redorange Magic and Kiran Sporg.
