Dear Gentle Viewer,
You are invited to a most glorious event at the splendid Spoonful of Sugar benefit wherein you will be treated to an exquisite performance inspired by the renowned series Bridgerton.  The romance and grandeur will be brought to the stage in delightful dances to string quartet compositions that have been gently caressed with a modern touch.  Though not required, feel free to dress to theme if you would like to sparkle.  This year, SOS is taking you to Regency and 1800s England!  Feel free to dress to theme if you wish to sparkle!  All proceeds will go to Spoonful of Sugar Fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders.

Doctors Without Borders is an international humanitarian medical non-governmental organisation (NGO) of French origin best known for its projects in conflict zones and in countries affected by endemic diseases.  Every day, Doctors Without Borders teams deliver emergency medical aid to people in crisis, with humanitarian projects in more than 70 countries.  Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) offers medical humanitarian assistance to people based solely on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.

While the Spoonful of Sugar Festival benefiting MSF/Doctors Without Borders will return as usual this fall, you may soon notice donation kiosks appearing in your favorite shops and venues. These kiosks offer a way to support MSF immediately — because even a quick glance at today’s global events makes clear just how urgently these funds are needed. We are deeply grateful for your generosity. Micro-donations, such as those made in Second Life, add up quickly. Over just ten festivals, Spoonful of Sugar has raised more than $160,000 USD for MSF. When we say every linden counts, we mean it!

And remember: even if you are not living through a war zone or natural disaster, your own personal battles matter too. Worry, grief, and division can feel isolating, even in a crowd. Be kind to yourself. Embrace joy when it appears—and seek it out when it doesn’t. Small moments of happiness — micro-joys — build resilience. They are just as important for keeping you strong as anything else. Think of it as another way to be part of the solution. Joy builds solidarity. It’s contagious. So turn up the music on the way home. Smile at fellow travelers. Hug your kids, your partner, or your pets like it’s the best part of your day — because it is. Watch a funny movie. Take a walk. Play a game. Laugh often. Every smile strengthens you.

As you nurture that strength and connection, we will be working behind the scenes to build a magnificent festival for you this September. We’ll be smiling too — as we hammer nails, plant gardens, and coordinate over 200 creators, performers, and events for you to enjoy and support. After a decade, we know you’ll be there. We already joyfully and confidently expect to see you September 6–21, 2025. Because you, our friends and supporters, always show up. And MSF knows they can count on us.

In Second Life, we know how to have fun—and we know how to do good. This year, join us for an unforgettable journey to Regency and 1800s England! Expect grand balls, garden parties, lively gossip, and a chance to time travel to another era while making a real difference in this one.

Peace and solidarity,
Ever Courtois
