It is with great pleasure that we present show Saltimbancos with Amazon Dancers!
This year, we are celebrating the 9th anniversary of Amazon Rainforest, and 7th anniversary of the group Amazon Dancers!
Saltimbancos narrates the adventures of four animals that, feeling exploited by their owners, decide to flee to the city and try their luck as musicians.
The musical fable was translated and adapted into Portuguese by Chico Buarque de Hollanda, from the play by Sergio Bardotti and Luis Enríquez Bacalov, who in turn had adapted the short story “The Musicians of Bremen”, by the brothers Grimm, as a political allegory, in which the Hen would represent the working class; o Donkey: field workers; the Dog, the military and Cat, the artists. . The baron, an enemy of animals, would be the personification of the elite, or the "holders of the means of production".
The show lasts about 60 minutes and has 7 acts.
