Jazz & Blues comes to Paramount stage this month! Paramount Grand Theatre's new show for July is a soul full show. Come join us for an evening of classy but sassy entertainment as we the Paramount Players dance for you, July 5th & 12th at 7:30pm slt.
Jazz and blues music both coming from Southern United States. Jazz originated and developed from roots in blues and ragtime, while the blues came from African Americans roots in African musical traditions, African-American work songs, and spirituals. Come to see how the Players interrupted their favorite songs.

REQUIREMENTS FOR DANCERS (Updated June 2019)
A human adult avatar with a nice classic body shape, skin and hair. NO MESH BODIES FOR PERFORMANCE DANCING. When dancing wearing scripted items is not allowed. eg jewellery, smiles, huds and ao's
Must have a good understanding of English and be able to follow instructions
Must have a good knowledge of SL basic skills - important is saving outfits so you can change clothes with one click between acts.
Must be available to attend rehearsals and dance in shows between 11.30am slt to 3pm slt on any day of the week.
Must be committed and reliable and alert when dancing as sometimes you will need to respond to instructions very quickly
Most of all you must enjoy what we do and being part of our fun team.
You will need to join the Breezes Dancers group
Most dance costumes are made by our Director Mcpol Kamachi and provided for an appropriate cost to go towards her purchases of FP outfits, textures and upload costs and sometimes we ask you to buy something inexpensive yourself.
All received payment for shows and tips at shows are used to cover the cost of creating the shows. Animations are expensive and there are many other costs that need to be covered too.
**IMPORTANT RULES**
If you are in one of our shows you might not be in every act.
We have to have reliable dancers, dancers we know are going to come to rehearsals and shows. So now we are coming in line with our sister group Amazon Dancers with this new rule. You need to come to ALL rehearsals unless you let me know in advance that you cannot come. If Dancers start missing rehearsals for no reason they will not be in the shows. Missing seeing a group notice is not a reason, you must check for new notices in the Group window everyday.
Please do not take pics whilst we are rehearsing and performing shows as it makes mcpol's dance hud freeze and we could all crash. Ask a friend to come and take pics instead.
Please request the application form from Web Sass and return it to Venetia Cazalet (Breezes Dancers Manager) if you meet these requirements and agree to the rules and would like to dance with us.

As an "Arts" theater (and gallery) Desire Arts is a venue perfectly suited for SL Performers wishing to express themselves through live performances, through Dance, Art Exhibits, Performance Art as well as Dramatic Presentations.
I can't help but jump back to this scene in the movie Beetlejuice...
Set scene: Adam and Barbara are in the waiting room with the receptionist, surrounded by others clasping their numbers and waiting to be called on. Action!
Adam: Is this what happens when you burnout? Receptionist: That is what happens when you burnout, that is what happens when he burns out, and that is what happens when they burnout. It's all very personal. And I'll tell you something; if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have had my little (epic) meltdown.
Obviously I took some liberties there. As I don't have grammarly to check my grammar, I looked up burnout in the dictionary:
1: the reduction of a fuel or substance to nothing through use or combustion.
also: the point at which burnout occurs
2a: exhaustion of physical or emotional strength or motivation usually as a result of prolonged stress or frustration
b: a person suffering from burnout
I like definition one the best, "the reduction of a fuel or substance to nothing through use or combustion".
Whether you've been in dance for six years, ten years, or six months, burnout is real. That feeling you get - the high when you perform a dance you're proud of, those bursts of creative energy that keep you working on a dance for all hours, the thrill of performing at your favorite venues...it can be intoxicating...and it can be addicting. Burnout can take many forms, and like anything it can be slow and gradual or it can hit you like a ton of bricks.
Suddenly, you may feel like you're in a rut - creating the same thing over and over again. Maybe new ideas are no longer coming to you. Maybe you've committed to perform x times a month and are constantly chasing your tail getting acts finished - working by deadlines. Maybe you've created such a regimented process that it feels like you're building a car instead of creating art. It was a long time before I realized that my checklist and logical mind was overpowering the freedom to follow inspiration. Everyone feels burnout differently, perhaps skirting the edge or reaching that point that dance has lost its magic. Almost inevitably you reach a moment when you ask "why am I doing this" and doubting yourself and your own abilities.
One of the references I love best is this: Creative energy, that thing that drives us and helps us create these new ideas and express ourselves through our art, is like a well of water. We use it as we create and it replenishes itself. How? how we feel, our happiness, the support we receive...and over time.
Over time. That phrase hit me over the head like a ton of bricks. Creativity needs time to replenish. How much time? That depends on you - what drives you, what fuels you, what you enjoy, the balance in your life, and a million other factors. Only you can know. So what is burnout?
"Burnout means you’ve pushed your creative energy beyond the point of recovery...A person who has pushed their creative well too hard for too long will, like its watery counterpart, one day find it empty." (link below)
Ironically, I began this post while I was in the midst of a full blown burnout - a complete loss of inspiration. It is only now that I'm able to finish it as I continue my new beginning, my renewal. Everything you read here. That was me. I know many others who have reached a similar point, or who have skirted the edges. It is real, and no one is immune. Only you can listen to what's inside and know how full your creative well is. Only you can stay aware of why you create a dance. Only you can know when you are draining your well faster than it can fill. Only you can shift things to prevent losing joy in something you love. Only you can bring yourself back.
Dance can be so many things - art, creativity, expression, release. I forgot that for a while, my well empty. Now I'm finding my way again.
I think there is bravery and strength in sharing something of our self that isn't perfect. To reveal a piece of our true selves.
The Art Factory is bringing another Open Dance show to the grid on Sunday, 6/16/19 at 6 pm slt! The is the show where we invite dancers from all over Second Life to perform their favorite routines!

Hello, Hope this notice finds you well. I wanted to tell you a little about our club and some of our upcoming activities to see if there is anyone in our group interested in collaborating with us.
We are D/s live music venue that hosts over 60 hours of live music each month. We also had teamed up with The Art Factory to bring a theater experience to live music; however the owner of TAF is a new mother now and no longer able to continue.
We are looking for a group that would be able assist in stage design and choreography for our next planned Theater/Live show for WayneDavisRocks and his Metallica set. Funding and resources are no issue. We also have dancers that can be available as needed.
