Making Your Own Special Effects Trigger HUD
Triggering changes, actions, and effects during a dance can add significant impact to a performance. We will review how this can be accomplished through the Performance Director or configuring one of the HUD buttons, but we are also going to add a new tool to your arsenal – how you can create your own special effects trigger HUD. We’ll discuss what you can do with it and why you may want to create one. It is easier than you think! Includes a hands-on exercise where you will create your own and trigger a little bit of magic!
Requirements: Basic knowledge of editing notecards, the object contents window
Tues May 15th - 5 pm slt
Animations, Transitions, and Different Ways to Organize and Choreograph
A bit of demonstration, open discussion, and play as we meet in the dance studio. We'll be talking about animations, travel, slides, and finding ways to transition smoothly between animations, followed by a bit of freestyling to practice! We'll top it off with several tools and ideas for organizing your animations to play with and sharing ideas for jump starting your choreography. Sure to be a fun, hands on workshop!
Sat May 19th - 10 am slt
Performance Director - Idle Animations & Layering Animations
It's all about the animations during this workshop! We explore the benefits and how to use routine specific idle animations in your performance, then move on to layering animations! Ever have an animation you love, but hate the beginning of it? Layering animations allows you to "play" the animation from the middle, giving you the opportunity to really use the full effect of your animations and give them a different look! A little instruction and lots of hands on practice as we do this together!
** Requires basic experience using the Performance Director
Sun May 20th - 10 am slt
Spot On Synchronization – Starting Your Dancers Backstage
You've used the PD, Stage Manager, and Choreo movers to create your routines - but you wish you could rez your movers out early, or move them onto the stage without giving them whiplash as you play your dance. During this workshop that's exactly what we're going to do! Your own stage, a prepared dance, and you'll be adding your own backstage moves before the end of the workshop! We'll also be touching on "dummy notecards" at the end. * workshop has been streamlined based on your feedback! *
Requirements: Must own and have used the Performance Director, Stage Manager, and Choreography Design System in performance, and be comfortable in using them.
Not quite ready to participate but interested in learning more about the tools or topic? Feel free to drop in and follow along! Comfortable seating area provided!
